More than ever before, companies and brands have begun promoting their Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers well in advance of the actual days themselves.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TV and radio commercials, billboards, bus shelter ads, website personalisation, social media, and of course, email marketing were all used extensively.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And during Black Friday and Cyber Monday?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when things really took off, especially on Spotler&#8217;s servers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How many emails were sent through Spotler during Black Friday and Cyber Monday?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>Across Spotler&#8217;s platforms, more than <strong>148 million emails<\/strong> were sent on Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2025. In every country where Spotler is active, Black Friday and Cyber Monday continue to be major e-commerce peaks. Consumers are also starting to shop earlier: many retailers launched their promotions during Black Week, a trend that, according to DHL,\u00a084% of online retailers\u00a0in 2025 adopted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Netherlands&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>Online activity in the Netherlands was extremely high once again. iDEAL recorded <strong>almost 6.3 million transactions<\/strong> on Black Friday, around <strong>8% more<\/strong> than in 2024. The biggest growth, however, occurred in the run-up: the week before Black Friday saw <strong>37.8 million payments<\/strong>, a new record.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">United Kingdom&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>The UK once again saw strong online spending. According to Reuters, consumers spent <strong>over \u00a33.8 billion online<\/strong> during the Black Friday weekend, a <strong>4.6% increase<\/strong>. Nearly all growth came from online shopping, with brick-and-mortar shops lagging behind.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Germany&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>In Germany, consumers were a little more cautious this year. According to the German retail association HDE, the combined Black Friday and Cyber Monday turnover for 2025 is estimated at <strong>around \u20ac5.8 billion<\/strong>, slightly lower than last year. This small decline is mainly due to Germans being cautious with larger purchases, even though many still indicated that they planned to take advantage of the discount days.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spain&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>In Spain, Black Friday remains an extremely popular shopping moment. According to consumer research, Spaniards spent <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><strong>an average of between \u20ac165 and \u20ac210<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<\/span>Black Friday 2025, more than in previous years. Electronics, fashion and beauty performed particularly well, with a large share of purchases made online.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sweden&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>In Sweden, Black Friday was somewhat calmer than last year. According to Ehandel.se, total revenue fell by around <strong>3%<\/strong> and the number of transactions was <strong>nearly 17% lower<\/strong> than in 2024. At the same time, shoppers spent more per purchase. <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">The<\/span> average order value rose by over 16%. As a result, total revenue across the full &#8220;Black Month&#8221; still ended up slightly higher than in the previous year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group mobile-fw has-light-blue-background-color has-background\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-dark-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8949ae900dcee0c6971508071d6a5c81\" id=\"h-titel\">What can we learn from this for 2026?\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p class=\"has-dark-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3d878618cafc37de2673253ca930502c\">Black Friday 2025 was once again a rollercoaster: more traffic, more deals, and more emails.
