Rather than jumping on the “AI for the sake of it” bandwagon, we’ve taken the time to look at the most common challenges email marketers face, and built AI into Mail+ to handle them.

We identified 4 areas of email writing where AI could make our customers’ lives easier:

  • Writing consistently with the brand Tone of Voice (ToV)
  • Getting started from a blank email
  • Summarising a whole page in the length of an email
  • Fast and accurate translation

Might need a little bit of zhuhzing up

Brand Tone of Voice can be a tricky thing, especially if it doesn’t match the way you’d write outside of work. Mail+ comes with 5 preloaded tones to help you adapt the tone of your content into a suitable style.

The other way to use this feature is for split testing; see whether a “witty” email style gets a better response than your normal tone.

Or how about altering the length of your content? I’m a very wordy writer (thanks, History degree essays!) and sometimes struggle to get my point across in less than 100 words. Mail+ can trim a 60-word paragraph to a 10 word sentence in a single click:

“Lake District Hotels transformed their marketing approach by integrating data sources”

Or if you have the opposite problem, it can expand 3 sentences into a full paragraph.

Battling ‘Blank Page Syndrome’

“Right, one email about our next webinar coming up!”
sits there for an hour, staring at an empty screen

We’ve all been there, but Mail+ is here to help! This part of the AI tool works exactly like ChatGPT or Gemini; type in your prompt and let the computer do the rest.

The same, but different

Whether or not the trend of people calling themselves “Prompt Engineers” on LinkedIn (but not at parties, cos they don’t get invited) is here to stay, there’s definitely an art to writing a prompt that will get the results you’re hoping for.

If that’s something you struggle with, good news! In Mail+, you can paste in a URL, and the AI will generate a text block about it for you. Here’s what it came up with from the URL for our March webinar with G2:

As with the other generative options, you can set the tone and length (up to 300 words), and you will be given 3 options. You can pick the most suitable one and use it as it is or edit it until you are completely happy.

Cómo se dice «Generative AI» en español?

How many of your customers have a different native language to you?

Spotler Group has employees and customers all across Europe, so we understand the need for consistent messaging across languages.

As you can see, Mail+ offers you 3 translation options. This is the subset of translation known as localisation; there may be multiple ways to translate a particular word or phrase (such as whether your last meal of the day is tea or dinner ). It’s up to you how you approach this, whether your chosen tone of voice is more casual or more professional, or whether a native speaker would tend to favour one over another.

Add AI to your toolbox

As with all Spotler AI tools, you don’t have to use Mail+’s generative AI if you don’t want to. However, we’ve designed the tool to tackle the most common challenges we hear about from email marketers: adapting tone of voice, reusing content with different wording, and even beating writer’s block with the idea generator. Try it out and see how it makes your work easier.
